Frequently Asked Questions

Registration fees include access to the conference's scientific sessions, poster sessions, and special sessions. Receptions, social events, coffee breaks are covered under lodging costs.

Society for Muscle Biology accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit card payments. Purchase orders are not accepted.

• If cancellation occurs prior to May 30th, the registration fee is refundable. Eventbrite's fee is nonrefundable.

If payment has been made by the payment deadline of the event and a VISA is not awarded in time to travel to the event, the full registration fee will be reimbursed. In this case, the VISA rejection letter or proof that the visa application process has been initiated on time is required before reimbursement is processed. 

Early Discounted Registration deadline is April 2nd 2024

Regular Registration deadline is May 30th, 2024

Invited speakers must submit an abstract before the abstract submission deadline when completing registration. Other participants may submit an abstract to be considered for a poster session or a short talk. Please follow the abstract guidelines. 

Authors will be notified via email about the decision for Oral Presentation by May  15th and May 30th for Poster Presentation. Please understand that we want to give every application the same chances to be reviewed properly. 

Early stages investigators (PhD students and Postdocs) are encouraged to apply for travel awards. On the google form registration there was a question whether you want to be considered for a travel award. No additional application materials are needed.

Awardees will be notified via email before the start of the conference and the award value will be announced at the conference site or soon thereafter.

The deadline to reserve the room at the group rate is May 30th, 2024

Unfortunately, this service is not provided by the venue. However, we encourage individuals requiring childcare service to apply for an accessibility grant to offset the cost of arranging a caretaker. See details under Awards & Grants Information.

The Society of Muscle Biology encourages all potential attendees to check their entry requirements with their international office and consulate.

Canada is open to international travel. 

As of February 2024, proof of COVID-19 vaccination or rapid-test results are not required.
