Join our muscle biology community

The Society for Muscle Biology (SMB) brings together researchers dedicated to understanding skeletal muscle – its development, function, disease, and regeneration – across academia, clinical research, and industry. As an SMB member, you become part of an international community of scientists spanning career stages and disciplines, united by a shared focus on muscle biology. Whether you are a graduate student just beginning your research career, an early-career investigator building your lab, or an established leader in the field, SMB connects you with the people, programs, and opportunities to support your work. Through initiatives like MyoNYR and an emerging network of Special Interest Groups, members gain access to mentorship, collaboration, and professional development tailored to every stage of the scientific journey.
